As school very quickly is coming to an end, we would like to say thank you to all our members for sticking it out! Although we haven’t had too many projects due to school and vacations, we are more than ready to have a busy year. Hopefully everyone is getting ready for finals week and studying hard. We wish you luck! Don’t forget that this is the time of year where giving your time is welcome the most thanks to the approaching holidays!!
Upcoming events:
• Salvation Army (ringing bells): Dec. 6th and 13th
• Hanging of the Greens: Dec. 5th
• Meeting: Dec. 2nd (7pm in Mirage-Thunderbird)
Thanksgiving Fun Facts:
• In the US, about 280 million turkeys are sold for the Thanksgiving celebrations.
• Although thanksgiving is widely considered and American holiday, it is also celebrated on the second Monday in October in Canada.

Six nights a week, hungry and homeless
people come to Project Share for their
evening meals. Our 127-230 guests include children, families,
women and men who share our dinner table and
receive hot nutritious meals. Each person receives a hearty welcome at the
door and a full meal served buffet style. They
often visit with family members and friends
while eating. There are always clean restrooms
and personal hygiene items if needed. These hungry people receive the best home
cooking in town in a safe & family friendly
environment. They always find a hot meal
including a main dish, vegetables, salad and
dessert. About 40 of our guests often line up for
second helpings of food—so we know the meals
are great. With good solid food in their stomachs and our
supportive environment, our guests can better
address their concerns towards creating
sustainable life decisions such as housing, jobs,
and health care needs. We are only part of the solution. We
collaborate with other local agencies to provide
a wide variety of services.
This month’s focus is….. Project Share
We were once again able to help out at Project Share. Since it is such a popular place to do service, we hope that we can show up there more often. Thanks again to all of those who showed up to Project Share to donate your time!!

Hanging of the Greens
On December 5th, UNM CKI will once again be joining in on one of UNM’s winter traditions. Starting at 5
o’clock, UNM CKI will help fill and light hundreds of
luminarias to display around campus. Not only will we be able to lie out the luminarias our own
way, but we will also walk around campus to see
what the other clubs have done!!
Salvation Army (Ringing Bells)
This year we have planned two dates where we can help the Salvation Army raise money! On Dec. 6th and Dec. 13, from 2:20-7:20, we will be at the Smiths on the corner of Yale and Coal. Remember that there is still time to sign up if you haven’t done so already!!!
As the fall semester comes to an end, we would like to remind everyone to check their emails for an update in meeting times! Have a wonderful break, and see you next year!!!
