Sam is a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and has been involved in the development and delivery of numerous training courses across various industries. An industrial Physiotherapist with over 30 years of experience in rehabilitation, Sam is also the Director of Clinical Services with Corporate Health Group (CHG). She was the founding Director of Muscular Development Fitness Unit (MDFU) at the Memorial Hospital North Adelaide until it closed in 2007, then it relocated to the CHG Mile End Clinic. CHG is a leading provider of Occupational Medicine Services in South Australia working with employers to provide wellbeing programs that support safe and sustainable work.

Chris Burns became the inaugural South Australian Mental Health Commissioner in July 2016. An experienced advocate and strategic planner, Chris is a former military officer and consultant in defence and international relations. Most recently, he was the CEO of South Australia’s defence industry association successfully campaigning for defence projects to be made in Australia and for the Australian Navy’s next fleet of submarines and surface ships to be built in Australia. In leading the SA Mental Health Commission, Chris is focussed on taking a holistic approach to strengthening the mental health and wellbeing of South Australians in order to grow the state’s mental wealth.
