The Delphix Dynamic Data Platform is software that installs on-prem or in a public or private cloud environment. Through five key steps, Delphix simplifies and accelerates data operations:

• Connect: Non-disruptively collect data from databases, applications, and file systems. After compressing this data, the platform stays synchronized with sources by recording all changes over time.

• Virtualize: Through intelligent data block sharing, create virtual copies of the sources that are space-efficient, portable, and fully readable/writeable.

• Secure: Discover sensitive data and automatically apply data masking or tokenization, with the flexibility to define custom algorithms, to scramble confidential information in copies. Define policies that set privileges and integrate access control into data governance workflows.

• Manage: Quickly provision secure data copies to users in their target environments with functionality to audit, monitor, and report against access and usage.

• Self Service: Provide developers, testers, analysts, data scientists, or other users with controls to manipulate data at-will. Users can refresh data to reflect the latest state of production, rewind environments to a prior point in time, bookmark data copies for later use, branch data copies to work across multiple releases, or easily share data with other users.

A datapod is a set of virtual data environments and controls built by the Delphix Dynamic Data Platform, that is secured and delivered to users for self-service data consumption. Pods are lightweight and can be stood up in minutes, torn down, shared with other users, or easily replicated between locations. This gives businesses the flexibility to deploy Delphix capabilities on premises, as a part of a hybrid architecture, within a single cloud environment, or even across different clouds.

Enable Hybrid Architectures

Delphix makes it easy to deliver and refresh data in hybrid cloud environments. For example, with production operations on premises and dev/test in the cloud, one instance of the Delphix platform synchronizes with on-premises data sources, masks any sensitive data, then securely replicates data to another instance of Delphix in the cloud. From the second Delphix instance, users can quickly provision data pods that contain secure data copies, along with self-service controls to manipulate that data.

As source data changes, Delphix continuously replicates only changed data blocks instead of full data uploads. As a result, Delphix dramatically reduces the time and cost of transmitting data to the cloud, while also ensuring the availability of fresh data for development, testing, and other hybrid cloud use cases.
