UNLOCK A KID’S TRUE POTENTIAL BY REALIZING YOUR OWN.

Volunteer with Scouts Canada

Rediscover adventure as a SCOUTS CANADA VOLUNTEER, and have a great time doing it.

On almost every outing I witness youth develop into

independent, motivated young adults. I know

that I’m helping them get there.“”

It starts with Scouts. Contact us to find out more:

Scouting is growing in popularity, with increasing

numbers of boys and girls joining our adventure-based

programs. As they progress through Scouting’s unique challenges

and adventures, kids develop into confident and capable

individuals.

But the demand from young people far exceeds the numbers of adult

volunteers we have available to help. Each year, thousands of youth in

your community sit on waiting lists, hoping to join their friends.

We need your help to allow more young people to experience the

challenge and adventure of Scouting. At the same time, we’ll help

you challenge yourself.

ARE YOU LOOKING TO BUILD YOUR PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPAND YOUR NETWORK?

Besides helping young people to develop and grow through first-

time adventures, our volunteers are exposed to a wide range of

different activities and new experiences themselves. You don’t need

previous experience in Scouting, just energy and enthusiasm.

Are you a student looking for an internship that aligns with your

educational path, or a recent grad trying to kick-start a career? We

have Scout Groups that can give you hand-on experience. Preparing

for a professional designation in accounting? Consider serving as a

Group Treasurer to keep your skills sharp.

Given our size and scope, Scouts Canada can offer a big range of

opportunities to develop your skills, expand your network and

enhance your CV.

Why do I volunteer? To see the smiles on their faces when

they complete something new. I’m also learning every day

and having a blast.“

I’m giving youth opportunities to gain the life experiences that

they can’t get anywhere else. It give me a reason to always be on

my ‘A’ game.“ ”WONDERING HOW YOU CAN HELP GIRLS AND BOYS ON THEIR LIFE JOURNEY?

Whatever your age, abilities and skills, there are many ways in which

you can give your time to help Scouting. Most of our volunteers have

full-time jobs or study and help out on a flexible basis, working around

their other commitments.

Have a passion for the outdoors or a specific activity like biking, canoeing or

climbing? You could work as a resource Scouter with multiple groups and

introduce a new generation to your sport. It only takes a few hours a week

or one day a month.

We need volunteers to help young people experience the challenge

and adventure of Scouting. Simply let us know your

availability and how much you would like

to help and we will match this

to roles within your

local area.

DO YOU WANT TO GIVE BACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY AND SEE RESULTS EACH TIME YOU CONTRIBUTE?

It seems like almost every day, I draw on the skills and

experiences I’ve gained through Scouting in my professional life.“ ”
