Universityof Idaho Dual Credit Program Memorandum of Understanding Between The University of Idaho and McCall-Donnelly Joint District #421 (Name Of School District) 120 Idaho Street (Address) McCall, ID 83638 (City, State, Zip) 1. PURPOSE Recognizing the mandate of the Idaho State Legislature and the State Board of Education, this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is designed to facilitate an accelerated learning program that will provide advanced opportunities to secondary students to enhance their postsecondary goals, reduce duplication, provide for an easy transition between secondary and postsecondary education, and reduce the overall cost of educational services and training. The following understanding will guide this effort until modified or amended. 2. CURRICULUM Courses administered through the University of Idaho Dual Credit Program are catalogued courses and approved through the regular course approval process. These courses have the same departmental designation, number, title, and credits, and adhere to the same course description and course content as those delivered on the University of Idaho campus. 3. STUDENT ELIGIBILITY To be eligible to take dual credit courses delivered on a high school campus, students must be academically prepared for the demands of college-level coursework and have junior status. Students requesting an exception must submit a petition to the high school principal's office. Petitions will be reviewed by the high school counselor, high school teacher of record, and university instructor of record. 4. ACADEMIC POLICIES All regular academic policies that apply to courses taught on the University of Idaho campus shall also apply to dual credit courses taught on the high school campus. 5. STUDENT FEES AND FEE PAYMENT Dual credit courses delivered on the high school campus are $65 per-credit-hour plus any special lab or course fees; there is no application or registration fee. State guidelines dictate course fees, which are subject to change and effective only when adopted by the University of Idaho Board Of Regents. Various scholarships are available; however application is not a guarantee of funding. Fee payment is the responsibility of the student. 6. REGISTRATION, GRADES AND STUDENT RECORDS Students shall register for dual credit courses using the High School Dual Credit Admission and Registration form. 1 PURPOSE

7 FERPA For purposes of this MOU and pursuant to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) University of Idaho hereby designates the high school named in item 8 as a university official with a legitimate educational interest in the educational records of the students who participate in the Dual Credit Program to the extent that access to the records are required by the high school to carry out the program and the high school hereby designates University of Idaho as a school official with a legitimate educational interest in the educational records of the students who participate in the Dual Credit Program to the extent that access to the records are required by University of Idaho to carry out the program Both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of the educational records in accordance with the provisions of FERPA

8 AGREEMENT AND STIPULATIONS

It is hereby agreed that (Name of High School Teacher) Matthew Hellhake who holds a

b The teacher(s) will follow the attached syllabus as an addendum to this agreement The teacher will use the textbook listed in the course syllabus as well as other resources specified

c The students registered in the course for dual credit will be evaluated according to the criteria specified in the attached syllabus and complete assignments as indicated in the time frame specified in the syllabus with individual exceptions at the discretion of the teacher and approval of the university faculty liaison

d Students passing the course will be expected to be proficient in (attach learnIng outcomes)

e Upon successful completion of the course specified in this agreement students will earn nonshydegree credit and such credit shall be reflected on a University of Idaho non-degree transcript

f In consideration for teaching this course the school district will receive $000 per credit payable at the end ofthe semester in which the course begins (this includes year-long courses)

9 TERM AND TERMINATION

a The term of this agreement shall be for three (3) years beginning Fall Semester 2012 and ending Summer Semester 2015

b Either party may terminate this agreement by giving written notice to a designated representative at least 60 days prior to the commencement of a new academic term

c This agreement can be terminated at any time by mutual written agreement
