We Are All In This Together
"Biologists, ecologists, economists, ethicists and leaders of the great wisdom traditions have all
given voice to this theme: Despite our illusions of individualism and national superiority, we
humans are a profoundly interconnected species - entwined with one another and with all forms
of life [...]. We must embrace the simple fact that we are dependent upon and accountable to
one another, and that includes the stranger, the “alien other.” - Parker J. Palmer, Healing the
Heart of Democracy
1 Corinthians 12:12-13
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though
many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one
body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

Yes, it’s that time again!
Leaves are changing, families calling to make plans, kids making decorations…But what if
there were no food?
This Thanksgiving, for many reasons, not every family will gather around a delicious meal
with all the trimmings. But you can help! Denver Urban Matters and YOUR youth group are
collecting these food items to create Thanksgiving meals for families who would otherwise go
without:
Boxed Stuffing, Gravy (can or mix), 2 Cans Green Beans, 2 Cans Corn, Crunchy Fried
Onions, Cream of Mushroom Soup, Sweet Potatoes (can or box), Canned Cranberries,
Fruit Cocktail, Jell-O, Pie Filling,
Pie Crust (pre-made or mix)
$10 Grocery Gift Card for the purchase of a turkey, please purchase this
from the UMW at the front desk
Food For All is November 20th. Please bring your items to church through the 20th and the
youth will deliver them to DenUm. Thank You!
King Soopers and Safeway/Albertsons gift cards are available
each Sunday at the reception desk.
When reloaded at the store, UMW receives 5% from
King Soopers and 3% from Albertsons/Safeway.
We all purchase groceries, so help out with missions
at the same time!

Warren Village is eagerly preparing for the 29th annual Holiday
Shop on December 10. Each year, Warren Village takes in donations
of new gifts and recruits hundreds of volunteers to give our families a
truly special holiday experience. Here At University Park we can
participate by one of three ways:
*Gifts in Kind: New unwrapped gifts for both adults and
children. A Wish List is on the bulletin board by the water fountain.
*Volunteering: Also on the bulletin board is a list of
Volunteer Opportunities and descriptions. Holiday Shop is suitable
for families as well as individuals over 14 years of age. Please visit
the website to sign-up to volunteer at
www.warrenvillage.org/holidayshop
*Monetary donations: Also welcome are monetary dona-
tions and gift cards to help make Holiday Shop a Success.
A container will be available for collections to be taken to Warren Village by December 2nd.
Wrapping paper and supplies are welcomed as gifts are wrapped after the choosing.
Check the sales and purchase!!
Thus far this year we have recycled approximately 615 pounds worth
of aluminum cans and other miscellaneous metals;
for a total of $274.00.
We send these funds to the Children’s Hospital
Chaplaincy department to supply Bibles for patients and their
families including Spanish Bibles and to supply other reading
materials for their mobile
interfaith book cart.
29th Annual Warren Village Christmas Shop
Kids For Cans: Bring Those Aluminum Cans!
The UPark UMW will be hosting its annual Cookie Sale on Sunday, December 11, 2016.
In this fundraiser, church members bake home made goodies, deliver them to the church on
Saturday, December 10, and we sell them on Sunday with 100%
of the profits going toward the 2017 UPUMC Guatemala mission.
So dust off your favorite recipes and get ready to bake!
Please contact Amy Long at [email protected] with any questions."
