Ewing, Cortez Arthur Milton (1896–1962). Papers, 1910–1951. 20.33 feet. Professor. Manuscripts (1933–1961) of Ewing’s papers on political theory and of his book Essentials of American Government; research materials (ca. 1930–1960), including information on impeachment and primary elections; lecture notes (ca. 1920–1930) and other teaching materials (ca. 1930–1960); correspondence (ca. 1930–1960); and speeches (ca. 1920–1950), all relating to American government. ________________ About the collection: Cortez A.M. Ewing was a Professor of Political Science at the University of Oklahoma. This collection contains correspondence, research material, and news clippings relating to American government and several copies of chapters of the Essentials of American Government that Ewing co-wrote with Professor Royden J. Dangerfield. The collection also includes materials on the impeachment process at work in American politics, primary election data for several states, and several boxes of lecture notes and student papers. Ewing was a member of the Southwest Social Science Association, the American Association of University Professors, the American Political Science Association, and various committees and organizations at the University of Oklahoma.
