Short faculty presentation
Department of Electronics
Currently Active Project
1st of October 1960. – the Faculty of Engineering formally started
working and the Department of Electronic was part of it (129 regular
and 134 part-time students)
15th of June 1965. – the University of Niš was founded
23rd of November 1968. – by decision of the Parlament of the
People’s Republic of Serbia the Faculty of Electronic Engineering Niš
started its independent existence (269 regular and 27 part-time
students)1971 – Electronic Computer Center, based on IBM 1130 computer,
began to work
24th June 1982 – the Faculty of Electronic Engineering was moved
into a new, modern building (over 25000sqm, with 4 lecture halls, 40
classrooms, 20 laboratories, library, restaurant, sport and recreation
facilities, etc.), where the Faculty is still situated.
