FlexibilityWant to spend the day at the nearby beach, but need to study? It’s easy to do with UMobile’s online advantage. In addition to traditional on-campus classes, your course options include classes offered completely online or blended, with both online instruction and classroom experiences.

Whatever format your classes take – traditional, online, blended, experiential, community service, travel-based, or other innovative formats – you always have personal attention and mentoring from faculty who want to be part of your success.

Christian WorldviewIt’s not enough to be excellent in your field – that is simply the starting point. Through professors who teach from a Christian worldview, you learn what it means to live out your faith through your profession. From there, you learn how to use your influence in your career to make a difference in the world.

You may:• Use Christian principles in business to start a clothes closet with your business class at a Christian community center

• Earn college credit while building a chapel or providing health screenings in Brazil

• Show educators in Uganda creative methods for teaching children

• Lead worship in places ranging from a church to a homeless shelter

We believe the best Christian colleges do more than teach you the skills to be the best at what you do in your career. The best Christian college – the University of Mobile – challenges you to become all that God created you to be.

FacultyOur professors have the credentials to teach anywhere in the world, and they have a special passion for teaching the kind of students who are drawn to UMobile. They mentor you, challenge you, and help you push yourself further than you thought possible.

You will find them: • Leading an honors course to England or Italy

• Working side-by-side with you building a chapel in Brazil

• Joining students at the annual Catalyst Leadership Conference

• Backpacking with Youth Hostel Missions through Europe

• Teaching you and an international cast of students at a musical theatre workshop in Germany.

Page 6: University of Mobile Viewbook

• Mentoring you in your clinical nursing experience

• Leading an audience of thousands to cheer for your solo music performance

• Helping you organize a local community to start small cottage businesses

Your classes will be taught by UMobile faculty – not graduate students. Our small class size, averaging 14 students for each professor, means you have personal attention throughout your college career. The relationships you build with your professors will last far into the future as they influence your life – and you influence theirs.

UMobile professors bring their real-world experiences into the classroom as:• Business owners• Storm-chaser tour guide• Award-winning artists• Consultant to the Olympics• Medical device inventor• Worship leaders• Environmental consultant• Authors• Principals• Researchers• Platinum record songwriter

• Nurses• Mission team leaders• Inductee in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame• Pastors• International performers• Operatic soloists• Choreographers & arrangers• Expert medical witnesses

Service“Changing Lives to Change the World” begins when you arrive at the University of Mobile – and the first life changed is yours! Our emphasis on faith development calls you to an attitude of action where your faith impacts the world.

That’s why we cancel classes for one day each year for a university-wide Project Serve. You will go out into the local community with other students and faculty in your major area of study – and take action!

You may:• Paint a mural to brighten a hallway in an assisted living center

• Bring school supplies to sick children who must attend school at the hospital

• Work with area teenagers to plant a community garden

• Visit with senior citizens and lead an old-fashioned hymn sing

• Tutor school children in classrooms across the city

• Update a community center’s outdated computer software

• Put a roof on a Habitat for Humanity house

Our students volunteer at shelters, community centers, after-school programs, in churches and ministries, and more. When our students see a need, they respond – because UMobile students understand their responsibility – and ability – to be a change agent.

Mission TripsUMobile sends ministry teams across the nation and the world during weekends, spring and fall breaks, and summer. You become faith in action, using your influence to make a difference in the name of Jesus Christ.

Along the way, you build deep friendships with other students while experiencing circumstances and cultures much different from your own.

Mission trips include:

Urban PlungeBe part of planning 48-hour trips to inner cities across the U.S. and Canada as you serve impoverished communities

The University of Mobile experience begins where you are in your walk with God – then takes you deeper. Through experiences in classrooms, on our campus, across the nation and around the world, you will learn what it really means to see through the eyes of faith.
