To the Members of the American Dairy Science Association:
It is my pleasure, on behalf of our academic community, to welcome you to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for your 80th Annual Meeting. The official motto of the 1985 meeting, "Welcome Home," conveys our delight that you have chosen to return to the birthplace of ADSA for this event.
The land-grant tradition of the University of Illinois directs our philosophy of research, teaching, and public service--all working together to build a stronger society. We are proud of our faculty in dairy, animal, and food sciences and of their efforts to help improve t h e d a i r y i n d u s t r y .
More than five hundred papers will be presented in the scientific sessions and symposia at the 80th Annual Meeting. These papers reflect your dedication to scholarship and your service to an important industry.
I hope you will take time to see the Urbana-Champaign campus, and to visit our many programs and facilities. You will find our h o s p i t a l i t y warm and c o u r t e o u s .
We look forward to your visit in June, the National Dairy Month, and we extend best wishes for the success of this year's program.
Sincerely,
Thomas E. Everhart Chancellor
