MAJOR CAMPAIGN SUPPORT AND IMPACT TO DATE

• 35 – New endowment funds in UWF Foundation

• $9.5 million in anticipated state matching funds

• 15,819 total donors

• Funds will support College of Business accounting students.

• Dr. Committe came to UWF in 1967 - three months prior to UWF opening.

• Served as chair of Finance and Accounting where he hired the original faculty in the department.

ENDOWMENT ESTABLISHED IN HONOR OF DR. TOM C. COMMITTE

• During the 1970's, the department became the premier program in the state with the highest CPA pass rate of any institution in the state university system.

• Received distinguished teaching award in 1979.

• Retired in 2001 and named Professor Emeritus.

Johnson Scholarship Foundation ChallengeJohnson Scholarship Foundation Challenge

CHALLENGE DETAILS

The Johnson Scholarship Foundation has pledged over five years a $600,000

endowment gift to the UWF Foundation to challenge others to gift at least

$1 million in scholarship endowment at UWF for need based student scholarships.

THE UWF COMMITMENT

UWF must raise $1 million in need based scholarship endowments over the five

year period.

Johnson Scholarship Foundation ChallengeJohnson Scholarship Foundation Challenge

CHALLENGE DETAILSThe Johnson Scholarship Foundation has pledged over five years $100,000to challenge others to support First Generation Scholarships at UWF.

Gifts to the First Generation Scholarship are also currently matched 100% by the State of Florida First Generation Matching Grant Program.

FIRST GENERATION MATCH PROGRAM 2008-2009 & 2009-2010

UWF submitted and received maximum match ($195,000 x 2)
