ResearchThe university accommodates 34 teams of research and internationally recognized laboratories, among them 4 belongs to CNRS (National Center for Scientific research). Some of these groups of research participate and/or lead large-scale international programs of research.
Language NotesFrench language courses are offered in addition to regular university classes each semester for all levels. Contact hours per week: 5hours/week for 12 weeks.Students usually supplement language study with university courses.

Located in Amiens, the capital of Picardie, which is located about 80 miles north of Paris (1 hour by train). The city is situated in the heart of Northern Europe, halfway between Paris and Lille, 2 hours from Brussels, 3 from London or Amsterdam and offers many cultural attractions including theaters, film and jazz festivals, mu-seums and libraries. Its proximity to the Channel coast also provides recreatio-nal opportunities.UPJV was founded in 1969 and now enrolls approximately 23,000 students, including 2,000 international students.
CAMPUS LIFE
Housing and MealsStudents are housed in residence halls in s i n g l e - o c c u p a n c y rooms with bathroom facilities and refridge-rator. The students share the same kitchen.
OrientationThe International Office provides aid with registration and everyday life on campus. Student associations organize cultural events to make it easier for eve-ryone to get to know each other and to help foreign students adjust to their new surroundings.
