Letter from the Chairman of the BoardDear Friend,

At United Way of Weld County we improve lives in our community. It’s aboutmaking a difference not just once, but on a lasting basis. Not just for today, but fortomorrow, too. And we invite everyone to be part of that change.

We look at the systemic problems in our community and gather a diverse group ofexperienced community leaders and volunteers who help us figure out how toaddress them in a holistic way. Together, we make a plan to create the broadchange we need, but focused on specific actions, clear goals, and progresschecks along the way. And we educate and inform people about what we canaccomplish, rallying them around a shared sense of purpose.

Our volunteers and donors understand that together we have the power to make abigger difference than we ever could individually, and that the effects of ouractions and donations are amplified and invested where they will do the mostgood.

To build a community where everyone has the aspirations, resources and opportu-nities to reach their potential United Way of Weld County is committed to account-ability and transparency, the importance of capacity building, the importance ofagency and program practices working together to create lasting change and theimportance of community collaboration.

We can rise above any challenge when we come together with commitment andheart and do more for people who need us most.

We can always do more.

making it possible for your donated dollars to do more…

We achieve this efficiency by running alean operation, with only essential staff. We also subject every purchase to sever-al levels of scrutiny. By extensive use ofvolunteers we are proud to report that ouradministrative and fundraising cost is15% and is among the lowest of mostmajor charities and nonprofit agencies inWeld County.

Fortunately, we have the benefit of theCornerstone Partner program.Cornerstone Partners are companies andfoundations who choose to direct all or aportion of their corporate contributions tospecifically offset our core expenses.

Partnership criteria includes an annualgift of $5000 or more. The gift may becash or in-kind. In-kind gifts must replacean operating expense.

In 2007, sixteen companies and founda-tions generously partnered with UnitedWay to become the founding CornerstonePartners.

At United Way of Weld County, 100 per-cent of every donated dollar goes to meetcommunity need and help people in WeldCounty thanks to our kindheartedCornerstone Partners.

from all walks of life, in Weld County.

Can doing more really make a difference?

Will more of our young children be prepared to learn in kindergarten and

be successful in school?

Will more of our youth graduate from high school and continue their

education?

Will more families have the skills and opportunities they need to be

financially stable?

Will fewer people need the support of assistance just to get by?

We believe the answer is a resounding “YES” because our success is

your success. As a direct result of your dedication and continued support,

$2,943,124 was invested back into our community.

Thank you.
