In 2010, the Business Leaders Task Force created Home For Good, a plan to eliminate veteran homelessness and chronic homelessness in Los Angeles County by 2016. Home For Good focuses on getting people off the streets and into permanent housing. The approach, which in 2012 moved more than 3,000 people into housing, pairs housing with support services and saves money over the long term by reducing reliance on shelters.

Home For Good was created with the help of research and community input, and more than 100 leaders have signed on to the effort since its unveiling. If the plan is implemented successfully, it will repurpose 12,500 housing units, enough to provide housing for its target demographic. This will save $280 million annually for mainstream systems by 2016.
