Chicago, to attend the Black ' Republican Strategy Conference '72. The event drew large crowds for sessions held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 12-14.

United Nations delegate Arthur Fletcher will headline a testam onial dinner being offered by friends and associates of 21st Ward Committeeman John Tobias Dixon. According to Mr. Robert Power, a member of the dinner committee, Mr. Fletcher is expected ta speak on the accomplishments of -the Nixon Administration, and to give insights into the Chica~ !itru e for · Jld• tlllN l1i'W~~~=~~·1p indus1ry.

Also speaking at the $10. a plate affair will be William H. Robinson, Director of the Illinois Department of Education Registration.

The dinner will be held Saturday, November 20, 6:30 p.m. at Brainerd Hall, 8822 South Ashland. Chairman of the affair is Tomas F. Roeser, and co-chairman is Mrs. Eloyce Andrews. Entertainment will be provided by local musicians who are donating their time to make the tribute a success.

Arthur Fletcher is a former Assistant Director of the U.S. Department of Labor, who is credited , with having contributed heavily to the implementation of fair ~mployment practices in the construction industry. The Philadelphia Plan is currently being put into practice in major cities throughout the f country. a

Blaclc GOP At Successful Strategy Conference In Chicago 1. Power is often illusary,

the only real power comes with being on the inside -therefore black appointments must be made in all phases of government, and more black candidates of all political backgrounds must be elected.

2. Blacks must get together, and a strong two party system is the best way to "get it together."

3. In order to make black strength felt, blacks must be joiners who participate in every phase of community life.

4. Blacks must not allow Republicanism or any other political consideration water down their blackness. We must help each other.

Mr. Robinson noted that "there are bad people in both parties, we must ignore such problems and negotiate and work to improve the lives of all people. "Only then," Mr. Robinson said, "can we overcome the difficulties that we experience in this racist society."
