Praise the Lord, O my soul! ~ Morgan Shaw We will praise the Lord as long as we live! God created the heavens and the earth. God brings justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. God opens the eyes of the blind and lifts up those who are bowed down. God cares for strangers, the abused, and those on the margins. Sing praise to our God. The Lord reigns forever! Praise the Lord!

THIS is the day that the LORD has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

O loving One of mercy and justice, we come into your presence this day with hearts full of the past week. Help us to lay aside our anxious minds as you lift our worries and burdens. Guide us into your presence and teach us how to walk with you in faithfulness, humility, and care for others. This we pray in the name of Jesus, saying “Our Father... (debts).”

Flowers The flowers this morning are in memory of all those who have worshipped here before us and in honor of those worshipping with us in the future.

A meeting will be held October 20 following the worship service for those considering membership in South Church. This will be an opportunity to learn about the United Church of Christ denomination as well as about South Church.
