Lesson 2 - Jesus Loves Me

When somebody loves us, he wants us to belong to him. It is very rewarding if we belong to the Church, the family of God. “Jesus is with you, with me, with us. Jesus loves us so He wants us to be His friends and if we accept Him, surely we belong to His Family.

I have told you this so that joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My commandment is this: “Love one another, just as I love you. The greatest love a person can have for his friends is to give his life for them. You are my friends if you do what I command you, I do not call you servants any longer, because a servant does not know what his master is doing. Instead, I call you friends. I have told you everything I heard from my Father. This then, is what I command you, love one another.”

A True Friend

As Jesus talked to His disciples, He explained what a true friend what a true friend is. He said: “I love you just as the Father loves me. Remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in His love.

Jesus is our friend. He is always ready to forgive and accept us. He really loves us that’s why He wants us to belong to God’s Kingdom. A friend trusts his friend. He reveals everything about him and his work. Trust is an important factor of friendship. It is very rewarding to have a friend you can lean on.
