WSPThe WSP is the Web Standards Project. The WSP battles for standards to decrease cost and complexity of development.

How does this apply to LifeFollowerThe WSP applies to my social media product because they are a “Leading technical professional services firm” that can help the development of my product. This applies to my social media product because LifeFollower is a start up business and may need help from the WSP to develop and decrease the cost of LifeFollower further especially once LifeFollower is past the first year and is looking to develop as a business and a product.

The WSP will help various businesses and products develop.

W3CMy social media product has to adhere to the accessibility guidelines made by the W3C. The guidelines state that although some people with disabilities cannot access some media there may still use pages with “equivalent” information for the user to use or listen to.

Said information is required to serve the same purpose as the content that cannot be accessed by the user.

On my social media page I will have an accessibility preferences on the settings page with a range of different settings for the user to use if they are struggling with accessing the website to its full capacity.

Terms and ConditionsLifeFollower will have to include a terms and conditions page for the user to read and browse through if they have any concerns about the site. The terms and conditions will include rules and conditions that the user will have to abide by in order to use LifeFollower. The terms and conditions ill also outline that failure to accept these conditions and especially failure to meet these conditions will result in denied access for that person to interact with the site.

The site’s terms and conditions will explain that:• If a LifeFollower user breaks the rules or ignores the behaviour

standards that are expected by LifeFollower, their account will be dismissed or suspended

• Copyright is not acceptable• Disrupting or ‘trolling’ other users will be met with consequences

Purpose

The purpose of LifeFollower is to share their lives and the great moments they have with friends online. Those using the site will be able to follow one another and post things to their posting wall and others’. Every user can customise their profile e.g. colours, profile picture and personal message for others to see. A typical user for LifeFollower should be on average 15 years or older, this is because of the adverts and the age group they are aimed at may deem inappropriate for users under this age.The main function of LifeFollower is to connect people with each other’s lives. Users can do this by using the follow feature and the messaging service within the site itself.

About UsOn the about us page there will be a description of LifeFollower’s history and a summary of the aims, objectives and mission.

The about us page should give the user information on the reasoning behind the website and what the website is aiming to accomplish as well with various policies that the user has to follow.

The relevant information is on the About Us page draft which introduces the new social media site to its users and has information on the CEO.

Page 12: UNIT 35 - LO4

About Us Content

I have created an About Us page for the users to navigate to if they would like more information on the CEO of LifeFollower and a welcome message for the community.

By having an About Us page the user will have a personal message from the founder of LifeFollower which may persuade them to use the site.

Page 13: UNIT 35 - LO4

Pop UpsA pop up is a third party advert that can spawn when prompted by a website that the user has open.

There will be no pop up advertisements that LifeFollower will use but if the user has LifeFollower open and another website which uses pop up advertising then the user must be aware that LifeFollower was not the reason behind this advertisement.

Page 14: UNIT 35 - LO4

Web AddressThe web address for LifeFollower will be www.LifeFollower.co.uk , this is simple and easy such as www.Facebook.co.uk so that people can find the site easily and access it without struggle finding the site.

Conclusion

To conclude, the LifeFollower pages have been created and will use pop up advertising to make its money as the site is free memebership.
