When our health is good, we feel well physically and mentally. We have plenty of energy and enjoy doing lots of different activites.
Do you feel healthy?
When our health is not good, we feel tired and often ill.

Sit at a reasonable distance from the TV.

What is in food?Food contains the nutrients we need to live.
Food contains a lot of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. It contains much smaller amounts of vitamins and minerals.

Carbohydrates and fats are the fuels that our body burns to get the energy it needs. For example, to study and to run.

Proteins build and repair body structures. For example, they grow new skin and clean blood.

Vitamins and minerals make the body work properly. For example, they keep our bones and teeth healthy.

BALANCED DIETA diet is the combination of all the different foods we eat.
A diet is balanced when it gives us enough energy and nutrients for our body to grow and work properly.

How do we eat a balanced diet?
Eat food from all groups.
Eat more food from the bigger groups and less from the smaller groups.
Also do exercise and drink lots of water everyday.

Which types of food are not good for us?
Foods with a lot of sugar or fat are bad for our health.They can make us overweight and cause many illnesses especially when we are older.
For this reason we should only eat them on special occasions.
