edit share server and 2 PCs connected to the academy network, and loaded with all the specific software required to successfully complete the unit & course. There is also a course blog with all the necessary online resources including hand-‐outs that learners may want to access at any time. In addition, the learners can also access 5 JVC GY-‐HM100e cameras when filming.
Assignment Description: You will research music video production and use the knowledge obtained to brainstorm and develop ideas for a music video production for a specific track, chosen democratically from three assigned tracks. The video will be taken through pre-‐production, production and post-‐production to create a finished product. TASK 1: Analysis of Music Video Purposes, Styles, Conventions and Techniques Deadline: Monday 23rd March 2015 Grading Criteria: P1M1D1 P2M2D2 In this analysis you must discuss the purposes, styles, conventions and techniques of music videos. You must use three case study music videos to back up your explanations and compare between them.
You must explain each purpose, style, convention and technique with a detailed example from your case study/existing music videos.

TASK 2: Music Video Pre-Production Deadline: Monday 27th April 2015 Grading Criteria: P3, M3, D3 Before producing your music video you must compile and create an extensive Pre-Production Book. Each crewmembers pre-production book and blog (scanned and uploaded) must include a copy of the following: TICK ONCE COMPLETE. Artist Contact: Recorded emails, social media and phone messages, meeting minutes Production Diary: daily entries explaining progress, your individual contribution to each day and areas of improvement Idea Generation (brainstorms/notes on at least THREE ideas including: - Research on similar/inspirational existing music videos - Artist Profile: identity/image and target audience.
