Dear Mr Kennedy,

The Principal at the college where I work suggested that I should write to you for to / in

Multi-word verbs

Multi-word verbs are also known as phrasal verbs, and consist of a verb + preposition/adverb. Sometimes the meaning is literal, sometimes it is idiomatic, and sometimes the same multi-word verb can have several meanings, both literal and idiomatic.Read the following sentences and try to work out the meaning of the multi-word verb.
