History

The earliest written source that refers to Vihula is dated 1501 and places ownership in the hands of a Danish baron named Hans von Lode. Throughout the centuries, Vihula changed ownership repeatedly. The estate was completed as it appears nowadays during the time of the von Schubert's who lived there till 1939. The historicist main building was completed in the 1880s, but mostly the buildings were built during the period 1820-1840. Since 1991, the manor has been tastefully developed by Unique Hotels Group and has undergone a complete and total restoration from 2008-2014.

Vihula Manor offers luxurious and romantic accommoda-tion in eight historical manor buildings, each with its own un-paralleled charm and at unrivalled hotel room rates.

All rooms feature a combination of elegant historical am-bience, daring design and modern comforts such as high-speed internet access, multichannel TV, international direct dial telephone, coffee and tea making facilities, safe, mini-bar and hairdryer.

Wine and Dine

Vihula Manor Restaurant is located on the 1st floor of the Main Manor House and seats well over 100 guests: the Ball Room seating 50 guests, the Lounge Room seating 30 guests, the Library Room seating 20 guests and the Chimney Room for small intimate dinners. Besides, the restaurant features a Manor Terrace for enjoying the view of the Manor Park and a Sun Terrace for sunset cocktails.

Located in the historical Ice Cellar, Kaval-Ants Tavern, a rustic Estonian country side tavern, has seating for up to 100 guests on 2 floors. In the summer the Kaval-Ants Terrace seats another 50 guests.

Dining, receptions and parties can be arranged at the Vihula Manor Conference Centre, the Palm House Banqueting Hall, the Reception Lounge and the Vihula Manor Wine Cellar.

The Water Mill features the Water Mill Café and summer Terrace totally seating around 30 guests.

Conference and Banqueting

The Vihula Manor Conference Centre in the historical Barn House features original limestone walls and old wooden beams. There is a reception and coffee break area at the entrance and three conference halls: the 2-storey Constance Conference & Concert Hall for 120 guests; the Ursula Conference Hall for 90 guests; and the Dora Conference Hall for 40 guests.

The aristocratic Palm House Banqueting Hall seats up to 80 delegates and is frequently used for various gala dinners, wed-dings, receptions and more intimate concerts.

The Oil Granary Seminar Room, Vodka Distillery and von Schubert Presidential Suite are suitable for smaller gathe-rings such as roundtable meetings or brainstorming sessions in a unique and memorable atmosphere.

The Eco-Farm is located in the 19th century Horse Stable and is open to all visitors. You can find rabbits, chicken, sheep and Dexter cattle amongst other animals.

The old large Cattle Barn features another of the Vihula Manor's great family attractions – an in-door 15-meter Swimming Pool with a Kids area, Turkish Steam bath and Gym.

The Water Mill is located on the Mustoja River and hosts the Gift & Design Shop and the Watermill Café with a summer terrace and the Visitor's Centre where you can buy tickets and rent sport equipment.

The leisure activities include boat rides on the Mustoja River, hiking along the nature trails, trundling around the estate in golf buggies, picnics and biking around the estate and in the Lahemaa National Park.

History

The house was commissioned in 1874 by Baron Theophil von Stackelberg and completed the following year. Baron Theophil von Stacklberg and his family lived in the house for 6 years until it was sold to Doctor Johannes Fick in 1881. The conference facility in the courtyard of the hotel is the former old horse stable of the estate, built at the same time as the rest of the house. The house was a so-called “city manor”.

Through four floors, the modern and cozy hotel rooms introduce four different stages of Estonian history from the last one hundred years by displaying thematic photos as wallpaper on the walls of the rooms. Pictures in the rooms on the first floor of the hotel tell the story of the first period of independence, the second floor is about the post-war period, the third floor of the Soviet Union, and the fourth floor of contemporary Estonia after the restoration of its independen-ce. The chosen photographs are very important and emotional for the Estonian people, and through them the story of Estonian people and life in Estonia is opened up.

Restaurant "100" offers guests the chance to travel through time over the last 100 years. The a la carte menu combines modern flavours and style with what has been offered in Estonian cuisine for the last 100 years. Recipes, ideas, and the exciting combinations of some of the dishes come from the first period of independence of Estonia, some from the Soviet era. The à la carte menu also offers European dishes so that everyone can find something suitable for their tastes. In addition to all that, the executive chef of our restaurant, Oleg Alasi, has been the executive chef for Lennart Meri - the first president of Estonia after its restoration of independence.

The Centennial Hotel Tallinn´s conference center is an ideal venue for different seminars, meetings, trainings, and other events for up to 100 delegates. The cosy and modern confe-rence centre with 3 conference rooms in different sizes and a lounge area is located on the bottom floor. All the rooms are equipped with the latest conference and presentation technology, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a high-quality sound system. Every room has natural light and a suitable music

This cosy and classical hotel is located in a historical limestone building and was completed in 1953, the same period the Estonian State Library was named after Friedrich Reinhold Kreutzwald, an out-standing public figure of the National Awakening Period of Estonia in the 19th century and the author of the Estonian national epic poem, “Kalevipoeg“. The hotel is close to Kristiine Shopping Center and, located only 10 minutes walk from the Freedom Square. The hotel recently completed a thorough renovation, which has retained the buildings' historical authenticity and at the same time

The house was built in 1953, the same year when Jossif Stalin passed away. It was built for the state and has been a hotel since the independence. The building is a typical example of neo-classical Stalinist architecture.
