Output 1: A stakeholder analysis identified and a national
information dissemination strategy for horticulture science and
technology formulated
Output 2: Establishment of a central horticulture information and
press communication for the selection and release of information
and training materials related to Horticulture for dissemination.

Output 5: Interface with small holder farmers enhanced in order to
debate on their constraints and facilitate interaction with specialised
research units, central laboratories, private sector stakeholders and
stakeholders of the horticulture industry and donors’ community.

to fund its operations.

2- Train Fifty extentionists /knowledge workers and subject matter specialists to be facilitators on access to the
HORTISUN and RADCON and direct interactions between them and the growers and stakeholders.
Target : 50 Extensionists Achieved : 68 Extensionist
3- Hold Nine awareness, one day workshops for 360 small farmers in two governorates in upper Egypt on access to the HORTISUN , HORTIVAR and RADCON.
Achieved : as planned
4- Midterm review workshop held
On the 25th of June, 2014
Main recommendations :
1. The project duration should be extended for better
dissemination of the project activities and objectives.
2. A wide range of coordination between the project main
stakeholders is essential for better performance of the project
activities.
3. Creating a tool to measure whether farmers are receptive to
receive and use the HORTISUN technology or not.
4. Disseminating the HORTISUN project activities on a national level
so it can cover all governorates.
5- Provide Misr Alzzeraya TV, the technical materials
and data of the above mentioned trainings as well
as from FAO or other services to be used for video

7- Hold Monthly meetings and short campaigns held with small farmers to appraise their needs to focus on common and emerging problems tackled in the network systems either to solve it collectively or to be included in the research agenda.
8- Hold Monthly performance appraisal meetings with field staff to get their feedback and explore the constraints, and update their information (refresher training) provided.
