Church-Wide
Worship Service---September 1st: Pastor Davis will conduct the installation service for the newly elected pastor of Flint
River Primitive Baptist Church, Elder Gregory Miller. This service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on today, September 1, 2019
at the Consolidated Flint River and Running Water Primitive Baptist Association Memorial Tabernacle, 2131 Hwy 72 East,
Huntsville, AL 35811 (TEL 256-776-9688). Union Chapel Unity Choir, Deacons, Ushers and members are requested to be
on their respective posts.
Holiday Closing: The church office will be closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. The
church office will reopen on Tuesday, September 3rd .
Grandparents Day and Family & Friends Day will be observed on Sunday, September 8, 2019. Our Speaker will be Pastor
Willie Montgomery, Good Springs CPCA, Florence, AL.
Attention All Senior Adults ages 50 and over! Pastor Davis is excited to announce the Senior Adult Summit. The summit
will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, from 11:00am until 1:00pm, in the Fellowship Hall. Lunch will be
served. Pastor Davis is encouraging all senior adults ages 50 and over to come out and participate in discussion, focusing on
inter-generational relationships. If you plan to attend, please sign up at the Welcome Center. For additional information,
please contact Sis. Wanda Nall or Minister Marquis.

Youth Department:
Children’s Church (Sunday, September 1, 2019): Children’s Church will be cancelled today Sunday,
September 1, 2019 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Children’s Church will resume the following Sunday,
September 8, 2019, during both the 7:45am and 10:45am Worship Service. If you have any questions, please let Minister
Marquis know.
HEALTH Awareness
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month:The St. Jude Walk/Run, to raise money for the kids of St.
Jude, will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Huntsville Botanical Garden. Interested members
are encouraged to register for the Walk/Run at www.stjude.org. Union Chapel is a proud supporter of St. Jude.

Wellness Ministry: The Wellness Ministry will host a Blood Drive (Life South Blood Drive) on
Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 10:00am to 2:00pm on the parking lot between the
Fellowship Hall and the Academy. There will be free T-Shirts/Food/Drinks and other give-a-ways

The Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) will meet at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in the north end of the
Fellowship Hall. For additional information, please contact Mother Linda Sanders, Mother Ola Tibbs, or Minister Walter
Kelley.
The Missionary Ministry---September 9, 2019: The Missionary Ministry will host a fellowship on September 9, 2019 at
6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall and the event will be open to all women of the church. This will be a great opportunity to
learn more about the Missionary Ministry and its plans for the upcoming year. Please plan to attend and learn how you can
help. Refreshments will be served and signup sheets will be available at the desk in the foyer. We would love to see you.
The Veteran’s Ministry will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17 in the Sanctuary.
The guest presenter will be Retired Command Sergeant Major Richard Epps, Veteran Service
Officer from the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs. Retired Sergeant Major Epps will
present information on benefits and how to file claims. All veterans, their spouses, widows
and widowers of veterans are encouraged to attend.

Union Chapel Christian Academy has an immediate opening for a part-time Physical Education Teacher. Interested
