  • We are writing to request your participation, and permission, to conduct Facts For Life health care training seminars in Pyin Oo Lwin. These trainings would be conducted by

personnel from UNICEF (United Nations Childrens Fund).

Our company Golden triangle Eco-Resources Ltd. has been involved in the processing and exporting of high quality coffee from Myanmar for the last two years. In cooperation

with our sister company J & D Coffee Imports from Europe, we have been working to educate, train, and improve the lives of the workers and farmers with who we do

business. As part of our program to improve the lives of the people in the communities in

which we work, we make donations to schools, and this year we are donating 4,000

books and conducting training seminars, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture for coffee farmers around the country.

We recently became aware of the Facts For Life healthcare trainings seminars being conducted by UNICEF in various parts of the country. We felt that these programs could

be of tremendous benefit in the communities in which we work, and as such Mr. Gregory

Love, from J & D Coffee contacted the UNICEF office in Yangon and requested them to

conduct these training seminars in Pyin Oo Lwin.

Based on our promise of the interest of the community and the participation of sufficient

numbers of qualified people, they have agreed and scheduled two training courses for the

last two weeks in November. The first training, which will be conducted for the Buddhist

Community, will be held from Nov. 23 27. The second for the Muslim Community will be held from Nov. 28 Dec 2.

Attendance for these trainings is limited to 50 people, as per instructions from UNICEF.

We have been asked to check the credentials of all attendees, as UNICEF wants mostly

    women with 10th

standard or higher education. They should be healthcare workers,

teachers, or other community leaders, who can communicate the lessons of the trainings

to other members of their communities. The trainings will be conducted over 5 days and

Golden Triangle Eco-Resources we will arrange food, tea, and snacks for all participants.

In edition we are hoping to arrange lodging for participants who might come from some

of our coffee villages outside of Pyin Oo Lwin. UNICEF will be providing all teaching

materials, audio-visual aids, and trained teachers (Please see attached list of UNICEF

trainers and participants). There are 13 subjects being offered (Please see attached list of

subjects), and the seminar participants will choose 8 of them on the first day, depending

on the needs of their particular communities.

We are hoping to coordinate the trainings with you and that you will be able to provide a

meeting hall, with electricity, in which to conduct the training program. We also wish to

invite your Chairwomen, Dr. Daw Tin Lin Myint to give a speech of welcome at the

    Opening Ceremony.

  • We look forward to cooperating with you, and to your participation in these valuable

trainings for the benefit of the community. We also look forward to the speech by Dr.

Daw Tin Lin Myint. If you have any further questions please contact me in Pyin Oo Lwin

    at 085-21107.
