Improve the knowledge base and establish regional strategies for the reduction of stress to the marine and coastal ecosystem by improving water and sediment quality

Strengthen regional legal basis for preventing land-based sources of pollution

3. Appointment of National CHM Focal Institutions (NFI) and establishment of National Working Groups

4. Development of basic CHM system/infrastructure

5. Individual country visits to each NFI by UNEP/DEWA

6. Training workshop on the development of the Nairobi Convention CHM, 13-17 August 2007, Mauritius

7. Establishment of Memorandums of Understanding and Procurement of servers for each of the Focal Institutions

8. Official launch of the CHM during the 5th Conference of Parties of the Nairobi Convention
