the unemployment rate (10 years and over) in Pakistan was last reported at 5.7 percent in the second quarter of 2011. Historically, from 1990 until 2011, Pakistan Unemployment Rate averaged 5.8 Percent reaching an all time high of 7.8 Percent in June of 2002 and a record low of 3.1 Percent in December of 1990. 

Rate of population:

The higher growth rate of population is the major cause of unemployment in Pakistan due to limited resources.

Violence of labor law:

Labors laws are violated all over the country. No proper method to handle the situations.

Technology advancement:

Rapid mechanization and technology is also causing unemployment.

CAUSES OF UNEMPLOYMENT

Education system:

Education system is not according to the need of our country.

Insecurities:

Law and order situations of country is also causing unemployment. it badly effect the person working on daily basis.

Decrease in spending power:Spending power of unemployed person decreases.They spend their whole money rather than to safe.

Recession:Lack of spending power badly effect the economy hence the recession in economy starts.

Depression:Lack of job opportunities brought depression and hopelessness.

Other problems:Drug addiction, crimes,health diseases etc,.
