UNDERSTANDING YOUR PG&E BILL WHEN ENROLLED IN PCE’S ECO100 The following pages present an annotated sample PG&E bill for a customer enrolled in Peninsula Clean Energy’s ECO100 program. To compare a PCE ECO100 bill to what a standard PG&E bill would have been, do the following: 1) On page 3 of the bill, in the section labeled Details of PG&E Electric Delivery Charges you will find a line labeled Generation Credit 6 with an amount deducted from the bill. In this sample bill, that amount is $37.77. This is the amount PG&E would have charged for their 30% renewable energy generation service. 2) The cost of Peninsula Clean Energy’s power is shown on page 1 of the bill, in a line entitled Peninsula Clean Energy Electric Generation Charges 3 in the amount of $30.57 for 100% renewable energy generation service. Note that this amount includes an $0.11 Energy Surcharge listed on Page 4, which is charged to all PG&E electric customers and goes to the California Energy Commission. Note that this customer is paying extra to participate in Peninsula Clean Energy’s ECO100 program. You can find that additional amount on page 4 of the sample bill - the cost of power from PCE was $26.58, and the additional amount for ECO100 was $3.90, plus PG&E’s $0.09 fee totals $30.57, the same amount found on page 1. 3) The additional fees that PCE customers pay appear both on page 2 and page 3 of the bill as Power Charge Indifference Adjustment 7 and Franchise Fee Surcharge 8 on page 3 or PCIA 7 and Taxes and Other 8 on page 2. The total of those fees is $9.06 + $0.24 = $9.30. 4) This customer, buying 100% renewable energy from PCE ECO100, is paying $39.78 ($30.57 + $9.30 - $0.09) for generation service, while the same service from PG&E would have been $37.77. Notice of Interim Rate Adjustments On January 1, 2017, PG&E increased their electric generation rates by about 1.5 to 3%. Also on January 1, 2017, PG&E increased the Power Charge Indifference Adjustment (PCIA) by 26%. PCIA is a fee paid to PG&E by Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE) customers. When PCE set our rates in 2016, rates were set so that PCE’s rates are 5% below PG&E’s generation rate when the PCIA charge is included. In response to PG&E’s rate increase and PCIA increase, at our January Board meeting, Peninsula Clean Energy voted to reduce rates to maintain PCE’s 5% discount below PG&E’s electric generation rates. PCE’s rate reduction goes into effect on March 15, 2017. Although PCE’s rates are significantly below PG&E’s rates for electric generation, there will be an interim period until March 15 when the PCE rate plus the increased PCIA rate will result in a rate slightly higher than PG&E’s rate. This will result in a premium of around one dollar per month for a typical residential customer during this interim period. Starting March 15, PCE rates will again be 5% below PG&E’s generation rate, including the additional PCIA charge. For more information, please visit peninsulacleanenergy.com or call 1-866-966-0110

UNDERSTANDING YOUR PG&E BILL WHEN ENROLLED IN PCE’S ECO100 The following pages present an annotated sample PG&E bill for a customer enrolled in Peninsula Clean Energy’s ECO100 program. To compare a PCE ECO100 bill to what a standard PG&E bill would have been, do the following:

1) On page 3 of the bill, in the section labeled Details of PG&E Electric Delivery Charges you will find

a line labeled Generation Credit6 with an amount deducted from the bill. In this sample bill, that

amount is $37.77. This is the amount PG&E would have charged for their 30% renewable energy

generation service.

2) The cost of Peninsula Clean Energy’s power is shown on page 1 of the bill, in a line entitled

Peninsula Clean Energy Electric Generation Charges3 in the amount of $30.57 for 100%

renewable energy generation service. Note that this amount includes an $0.11 Energy Surcharge

listed on Page 4, which is charged to all PG&E electric customers and goes to the California

Energy Commission. Note that this customer is paying extra to participate in Peninsula Clean

Energy’s ECO100 program. You can find that additional amount on page 4 of the sample bill -

the cost of power from PCE was $26.58, and the additional amount for ECO100 was $3.90, plus

PG&E’s $0.09 fee totals $30.57, the same amount found on page 1.

3) The additional fees that PCE customers pay appear both on page 2 and page 3 of the bill as

Power Charge Indifference Adjustment7 and Franchise Fee Surcharge8 on page 3 or PCIA7

and Taxes and Other8 on page 2. The total of those fees is $9.06 + $0.24 = $9.30.

4) This customer, buying 100% renewable energy from PCE ECO100, is paying $39.78 ($30.57 + $9.30

- $0.09) for generation service, while the same service from PG&E would have been $37.77.

Notice of Interim Rate Adjustments

On January 1, 2017, PG&E increased their electric generation rates by about 1.5 to 3%.
