Better Voting• Cap the # votes: each user is
allowed 10 votes per category that they can use wisely.
• Users can spread multiple votes around different projects (can vote more than once on a project)
• User can filter by Random, Top Ideas, New, Category (Default: Random)
• Users can see what videos they voted on, reallocate votes, delete votes, etc.
• A “Random Shuffle” button automatically shuffles videos around on the page.
• Mobile version of voting platform, so voters can vote on the go.
Better Engagement
• Users can subscribe to an Uncommon Fund newsletter, which sends a daily email during the voting process featuring a different set of projects to vote on.
• Applicants get email notified of new comments and committee updates on their projects.
Application Process Platform
Applicants familiarize themselves with the fund and its requirements before applying
• Applicants read a long, 1-page About/FAQ on the fund before seeing the Apply button, ala Kickstarter
Applicants upload materials online• Applicants create
an account and fill out step-by-step forms, save their drafts, and submit their applications online to uncommonfund.uchicago.edu
• Form fields can be customized by the committee

• Judges have access to a Judge Dashboard to vote on project criteria on the site.

Judges can see a ranked list of their committee’s top choices
• Rank vs requested budget, votes, score, etc. and comments
• Easy access to project application, video, etc. all on the same website.
Judges can see what other judges have said and voted on for various projects
• Add comments on other judges’ dashboards
