My name is Jane and I live in a beautiful Spanish city, Madrid. I’m an English author of children’s books. I’ve always loved creating stories and songs for children. The best ideas come to me while… I’m jogging!
I live in a very big city, Buenos Aires. I have been drawing all my life, ever since I was a child as I didn’t have a TV. I enjoy most of all drawing comic strips and picturing myself and my kids in the illustrations that I create.
Come on an Antarctic adventure! Some Emperor Penguins cannot get to the place where they go every year to lay their eggs. Will Uncle Jack be able to help them?
In this hilarious story you will learn something about the habits of the Emperor Penguins and follow Uncle Jack and the others in their race against time to help the penguins to the place where they lay their eggs.

ncle Jack sat in an armchair with May
and Daisy and looked at a book about
Emperor Penguins. ‘Every year the
penguins walk many kilometres to the
place where they lay their eggs,’ read Uncle Jack.
The book was by Uncle Peter. Uncle Peter was
Uncle Jack’s brother and he loved penguins!
The phone started to ring. Jim went to pick it up.

‘Hello. Who is it?’ he asked. It was Uncle Peter! He
was at the Antarctic so it wasn’t easy to understand
him!
‘COME AT ONCE,’ shouted Uncle Peter,
‘THERE’S A PROBLEM! BRING THE SNOW
MAKING MACHINE!’
‘We want to
come too,’ said
May and Daisy
and Jim. ‘O.K.’ said
Uncle Jack, ‘but put on
your warmest clothes.
It’s very cold in the
Antarctic!’
The children quickly put on
their warmest sweaters and
coats and scarves and hats. Of
course Grumpy the dog put on his
sweater too! Where the children
went Grumpy went too!

Uncle Jack gave the snow
making machine to Jim and
Jim put it into the balloon.
‘What a funny machine!’ said
May, laughing. ‘Is it a fan?’
‘No,’ said Uncle Jack, ‘it’s a snow
making machine.’

The children liked going in Uncle Jack’s balloon.
‘Oh,’ said Daisy, ‘there’s a jungle!’
‘And a mountain,’ said May, pointing to a high
mountain with snow on the top.
‘And an island in the sea,’ said Jim.
Uncle Jack pointed in front of them. ‘There’s the
Antarctic. We’re nearly there!’
