SOF Information EnvironmentSingle Sign On (SSO)
SSO extends value of the SIE – Not just garrison services & global data transport
Single Sign On delivers IT services to the edge
SSO Integrated Active Directory domains means SOF warfightersuse the same account in garrison or when deployed– Simplifies access to SIE Network & Services– Enhances the ability to collaborate and share information– Provides Enterprise class E-mail, Portal & Data Reliability
Enterprise means uniform standards, stability & continuity– Increased network visibility, manageability and reduced cyber risk– Improved efficiency in IT operations and acquisition economies of scale– Centralized Data Center services reduces complexity for deployed SOF
communicators yet still allows them operational control at the tactical level11

Data Center Consolidation
Distributed Data Center (DDC) and Consolidation Goal is to build a DDC that is geographically separated from MacDill
with minimal natural disaster possibilities, providing full capability to function across the command and all assigned organizations during both day to day operations and in the event of natural disaster or emergency• Concept is to provide consolidated enterprise level services across
the command from 2-3 locations versus multiple disparate locations Stand up of DCs will allow for the consolidation of networks across
USSOCOM resulting in cost savings and gains in efficiency throughout the command
Complies with OMB Memo dated 26 Feb 10 and CJCS Memo dated 30 Mar 10 directing federal agencies to develop data center consolidation plans and incorporate them into the 2012 budget

Cyber Warfare Cell
BLUF: A cross-directorate body, tri-chaired by cyber SMEs from J2, J3,
and J6 that meets weekly to discuss current and emerging cyber issues impacting SOCOM
Purpose: Provide a focused venue for advising the Commander and staff on
matters related to the cyber domain in support of USSOCOM missions and functions
Intent: Facilitate the integration of cyber as a domain into intelligence,
operations, and communications planning, exercises and requirements, in order to advance and synchronize missions across USSOCOM

Recent Internet activity highlights persistent, adaptable threats “Anonymous” gains access to Booz, Allen, Hamilton servers
– Leaked over 90,000 DoD email addresses—allows targeted phishing
RSA cryptographic key stolen—over 10 million tokens Fake Army Knowledge Online site LulzSec claims…CIA, U.S. Senate, Sony, Nintendo, and PBS Fox News Twitter site posts President Obama assassinated Stuxnet worm rendered Iranian nuclear computers inoperable Cyber criminals target smart phones
No incentive for reporting; most organizations do not comment Social Networking sites provide easy access for targeted
information gathering on senior leaders Dept of Homeland Security test proves user training is critical
