WHAT IS ACOLLABORATIVE
LEARNING SPACE?
Collaborative Learning is a place for student collaboration and learning
Students and their teachers can communicate and collaborate on
aspects of learning and co-create knowledge
This space creates opportunities to extend learning beyond the classroom
This space provides access to Web 2.0 applications and tools

When you land on Collaborative Learning you are provided with access to the following:
To add your own space click on
‘Add Collaborative Learning Space’
1. TITLE Start with Leopold
Primary then add the topic eg Leopold
Primary Grade 4SW
Enter your Collaborative
Learning Space details here
2. DESCRIPTION Add a brief overview
of the space 3. ACCESSSelect one
OPEN spaces are listed for everyone across the state to
view and join freely
RESTRICTED spaces are listed for everyone across the state to know about but they must request to become a member
PRIVATE spaces are visible only to members who are
assigned by the space owner
4. ACTIVETick when you want
your space to be online
5. TAGSAdd tags so your space
can be easily found
6. SAVEClick save when all areas are completed and you are now ready to start designing your
own learning space
HOW TO VIEW & MANAGE COLLABORATIVE LEARNING
SPACES YOU OWN
Click on ‘Collaborative Spaces I Own’
Your spaces will be listed below
Click on Actions and a menu will appear
Click on Assign Members
When the contact appears tick the box and press
‘Update Associations’. Repeat for each member
Click on ‘Available’
Type in details of a contact you want to assign to this space and press ‘Search’

about what you want to

Make sure the name
clearly describes
yourproject
Explore whether a
similar project already
exists and would it be
useful to join it instead
Start planning early and keep the
scope small and focused
Consider whether you
should involve other
students/classes
Decide whether you
will make the project
open,restricted or
privateDiscuss safe
and responsiblebehaviours with your students
Allow time to reflect at the end of the project
