Q:  How  does  the  vehicular  charger  connect  to  the  vehicle’s  power  system?  A:  The  vehicular  charger  connects  to  the  rear  accessory  connector  and  hard  wires  to  the  vehicles  baCery  power  system.  It  is  automa3cally  powered  on  via  the  host  mobile  radio    and  will  con3nue  to  re-‐charge  even  when  the  radio  is  turned  off  or  the  vehicle’s  igni3on  is  off.

Q:  Does  the  soluQon  use  standard  Bluetooth  A:  The  X10DR  Long  Range  Wireless  solu3on  uses  Wireless  Pacific’s  unique  Mission  Cri3cal  grade  enhanced  802.15.4  license  free  2.4GHz  technology.  The  unique  adapta3on  allows  for  fast  PTT  and  receive  response  3mes  to  ensure  two  way  messages  are  never  lost.  The  gateway  will  not  connect  with  Commercial  Off  The  Shelf  Bluetooth  devices.

Q:  Can  you  connect  more  than  one  X10DR  to  a  mobile?    A:  Yes,  you  can  connect  up  to  nine(9)  X10DR  units  to  the  one  mobile  radio.  All  units  can  talk  to  each  other  and  can  monitor  all  conversa3ons    Q:  Does  the  X10DR  work  with  the  XPR5000  Mobile  that  has  Bluetooth®?    A:  Yes,  X10DR  works  with  all  Mototrbo  mobiles  including  the  XPR5000  mobile,  using  X10DR’s  own  2.4GHz  gateway  protocol.  X10DR  can  also  work  with  all  Motorola  P25,  TETRA  and  analog  legacy  radios  and  the  majority  of  professional  radios  both  trunked  and  conven3onal  made  by  all  other  manufacturers.    Q:  can  you  also  operate  the  host  mobile  radio  and  X10DR  at  the  same  Qme?  A:  Yes.  We  believe  that  every  radio  resource  should  available  whenever  and  wherever  a  user,  or  their  colleague,  needs  to  communicate  or  call  for  assistance  as  they  go  about  their  du3es.  We  believe  this  helps  ensure  a  safe  and  secure  workplace.

Q & A PAGE 1

Page 14: ULTRA LONG RANGE SECURE WIRELESS ......ULTRA LONG RANGE SECURE WIRELESS MICROPHONE MOBILE SYSTEMS SOLUTION MICHAEL HUNT Competitive Analysis Director – Global Markets Public Safety

Q:  Why  does  the  X10DR  use  a  tradiQonal  portable  radio  style  antenna?  A:  Propaga3on  studies  at  2.4GHz  show  that  range  can  be  significantly  degraded  if  the    is  located  within  the  users  hand.  Subsequently,  use  of  the  external  antenna  provides  up  to  16dB  beCer  performance  than  a  device  with  an  internal  antenna    that  is  encased  by  the  users  hand.  It  is  also  the  same  reason  that  all  professional  portable  radios  like  Motorola’s  APX  and  XPR  series  u3lize  external  whip  antennas.

Q:  Why  does  X10DR  use  an  external  gateway  antenna?  A:  The  The  X10DR  X-‐Ponder  features  a  SMA  external  antenna  port.  This  can  be  used  with  the  supplied  ¼  wave  antenna  for  localized  coverage.  For  users  that  predominantly  work  well  away  from  the  vehicle  this  allows  use  of  XMPA  mul3-‐polarity  antennas  that  achieve  over  300  meters  of  line  of  site  communica3on.  Range  test  have  shown  a  configured  X10DR  to  communicate  over  500m  in  unobstructed  situa3ons.  Addi3onally,  the  external  antenna  port  allows  use  of  an  approved  1  waC  bi-‐direc3onal  amplifier  to  further  enhance  usable  coverage.

Q:  Why  was  X10DR  designed  to  work  with  mulQple  brand/model  radios?    A:  X10DR  was  specifically  designed  to  address  the  age  old  shormall  of  mobile  radios:  how  to  communicate  when  you  get  out  of  the  vehicle.  As  many  users  desire  the  flexibility  and  freedom  to  migrate  their  fleets  between  models  and  or  brands  over  3me,  A  key  X10DR  design  criteria  is  to  accomplish  this  by  simply  changing  the  low  cost  interface  cable.    Q:  Why  was  X10DR  designed  to  be  always  paired  and  ready  to  talk?    A:  We  believe  that  a  typical  X10DR  user  conducts  the  bulk  of  their  work  when  away  from  their  vehicle.  The  X10DR  is  thus  op3mized  to  communicate  instantly  any  3me  any  where.  We  don’t  believe  that  when    a  police  officer  arrives  at  a  crime  scene  that  “Hang  on…  don’t  shoot….  I’m  pairing”    is  a  plausible  op3on.
