Product Description

Ulterion® 549 OPV is a low viscosity coating developed for oil resistance & water repellency. It has been formulated to improve processing under extreme heat temperatures and or low temperature curing situations where scuffing or sticking is a potential issue. It has applications in moisture barrier coatings, cold release coatings, food packaging coatings, and others where water & oil holdout is a requirement and process-curing conditions are minimal. Ulterion® 549 OPV is formulated to prevent blocking during the coater and/or corrugator operations even when low Tg base coats are used.

Handling / Storage Stability The Ulterion® 549 OPV is a made to order product, which should be kept in Cool dry conditions. Storage temperatures above 90°F will decrease the shelf life considerably. Optimal storage conditions will yield a shelf life of 60 days from the date of manufacture. PERFORMANCE FEATURES MARKET USES

Application Methods If a desired viscosity is required that is higher than the base polymer, we recommend Ulterion® 200 LT, 205 LT, or 237 LT as the thickener of choice. It gives optimal thickening at a neutral pH that enhances runabilty of our coatings at the desired higher viscosities. The low viscosity of Ulterion® 549 OPV makes it particularly suitable for air knife and on-machine applications such as size press or spray systems where adequate heat and drying follows.
