SENIOR COUNTRY WEEK

The final week of Term 2 saw Bullsbrook College take to Challenge Stadium for the 91st running of Western Australian Senior Country Week. We entered two netball, a volleyball, a basketball and a touch rugby team this year. All were incredibly competitive in their respective sports.

Our netball teams won or came third in their respective leagues. Our ‘E’ division girls blew away the competition, and ended up winning the final by almost 20 points. Jessica Hardy–Johnstone took out the MVP award.

The boys’ basketball team showed amazing grit and determination across the week, defeating everyone they came up against in clinical showing. They rounded off an exceptional week by defeating Tom Price in the final by 21 points. Blaise Wilton took out the MVP award.

The mixed touch Rugby and boys Volleyball teams each showed sterling results in both coming in at 5th place. Mr Bettella’s touch rugby team had a lot of new faces this year. Everyone fitted into the team so well. New comer Piper Sheriffs showed really strong improvement across the week, while Michael Bailey took out the MVP. In the boys’ volleyball, they were unlucky not to finish higher in their league as they lost some very close games against Northam and Bunbury. Liam O’Connor took out the MVP.

The rest of the week saw the Bullsbrook athletes take in the surrounds of Hillary’s Boat Harbour for dinners on an evening, with a visit to the cinema and a tour of the new Optus Stadium. Bullsbrook College students represented the school with pride and demonstrated awesome sportsmanship across the week. We are so proud of each and every one of them.
