+Genre

The Genre of the movie I’d like to plan is Horror to really show

the emotions that can be brought to a viewer through the type of

film that can be shown. I wish to use nightmares, revelations and

fears within the movie to demonstrate what can be made using

just a few things.

+ Narrative-Beginning Family of 6 in Birmingham; 2 boys, 2 girls and a Mum & Dad-

knowing about event, they move to fully equipped underground

bunker where they stay for 3 days

2 days after, they reappear and after a 3 hour trek round

Birmingham & Black Country, they realise that they are the only

humans left on the Northern hemisphere

Upset about things, they must move on and a bit of research shows

that the safest place to go is Mt Snowdon, North Wales-A camera

installed 2 weeks before hand showed 85% of the mountain

survived the strike due to rock being a very strong substance can

survive events like this

3 more days in the bunker of planning the route of 135 miles &

3560ft high, they set off on The Journey To The Top Of The North

began

+ Middle 15 Miles into the trek in Wolverhampton, the car that survived the

strike has 1 of it’s tyres burst thanks to the bad roads they carry on

due to vast amount of supplies they have and as a result the tyre is

replace very quickly

Ghosts descend on them quickly however after the 1st problem is

sorted and have to go 5miles off course

Near Shrewsbury, a message from the ghosts says they have 7

days to reach 5 miles of the foot of Snowdon and that the land is

now ours. They threaten those who don’t make it…

10 Miles later, the roads end as they reach the Welsh Boarder

meaning they have to walk 73 Miles ASAP-12.5 miles later,

tragically the younger brother dies of pure exhaustion

Affect of this is big on family but 4 days of sheer determination &

beating the enemy using the resources they had, they are with 2

days left just 7 miles from the foot of Snowdon & near safety…

+ Conclusion An hour of the next days walking, the 5 miles boundary is

reached-once reached the foot, the supplies are loaded on to the

trains at the start of the Snowdon Railway-the job of getting it up

there was the father & the only brother driving the train

Mother & the daughters had to walk up-about half way up

however, the older daughter tries to fend off ghosts and as a result

jumps 300ft into a rock, killing her instantly

For father and on, about 75% up, the ghosts rock the train for 5

minutes but they survive and safely reach the summit thanks to a

huge gush of wind

Mother & Daughter relay news to lads at the top who break down-

they join them 90 minutes later and settle for the night

Following day, without any trouble surprisingly, body of other

daughter recovered and rebuilding of The Northern Hemisphere

can begin

+ Three Key Scenes1. Within the beginning, they quickly discover that no human

civilisation remains within this part of the world. This really

hammers home not only the task they all have but the

experience they have just had.

2. During the middle, they reach Chirk Wood which is the beginning

of Wales and where the roads end. Again it gives that sense of

the task they have but does despite the huge challenge increase

there determination to be successful (As shown in the sample

scene)

3. During the conclusion, they all eventually reach the summit of

the mountain. It all begins to sink what they’ve just done and

there successful mission is the start of the huge rebuilding

process the world has to undertake.

+ Running Time & Target AudienceThe running time of the movie will be around 105 minutes so all

aspects and parts stated above will be covered in the most detailed

way possible.

The Primary Audience will be for predominately horror fans with fans

of Sci-Fi and Adventure being Secondary Audiences. The reason for

this is the script being around something extremely horrible and the

movie having a nature which is trying to do a Sci-Fi element

differently. The Target Audience will be for 15-25 Year Olds and for

those in E of the Social Economic Scale as they have

disposable incomes. Both Male & Female audiences should be

interested.

All of the people listed above have been within the film industry from a young age and have had some sort of experience of being in a film of the genre and nature stated above. I feel that they are all mature for the type of movie I want to make and as they are well known by regular cinema goers and have solid fan bases, fans wouldn’t mind them back on the big screen.

+ Representation & What Makes It A UK Film

Represents two parts of UK-Edgbaston, Birmingham (England) &

Llanberis (Wales)

Edgbaston an Upper-Class part of Birmingham-compare that to

Highgate which families mainly live in Council Houses

Contrast of Llanberis, Wales is stark to Birmingham

Only 4000 live there & 85% speak fluent Welsh-only Welsh &

English people live there

A UK Movie because of actors all being British born & bred

This film type hasn’t happened in USA yet on big scale

Nature of this film hasn’t been made here in UK for very long time

+ Legal & Ethical

Copyright shouldn’t be a big issue due to this type of movie not

being done here in the UK for a very long time/never

Royalties-things like branded clothing would have to be paid for to

a business/celebrity who owns the copyright to them

Representation stated in more detail in previous slide-all however

should be good as stated

There is no offensive material-these type of films have been done

in the past and details of the film being high doesn’t seem to show

any negative material

Based on a 12 Week Schedule; this shall be X2 longer than Production so think

this as 24 Weeks

+ Contingency Plans A plan b has to be in place so the production process can

continue swiftly as possible if aspects don’t go according to plan.

Major elements that have to be thought about is a more suitable

location to where the production process is being managed from,

an altered script that could be used if it becomes clear that things

are not working from an early stage and different actors if people

appointed to the roles either aren’t pulling their weight or can’t

continue for various reasons.

To further see if something is bad, throughout each day of the

process, anything that hasn’t gone to plan will be taken note of

and as a result, improvements can be made during the process.
