Welcome from the Principal
Studying at Kings Bournemouth will be an unforgettable experience.
Our learning community is open, friendly and welcoming. We care for our students and we delight in their progress and growth. We encourage tolerance and generosity, and we try to foster ambition and curiosity. Above all, we always put our students first.
Our main campus is minutes from the town centre but surrounded by trees and gardens; our spacious town centre annexe offers a newly refurbished contemporary learning environment. Bournemouth is a clean and green south coast haven which offers an abundance of opportunity.
As well as succeeding academically we want you to experience culture in its broadest sense, encompassing sport, music, art, adventure and discovery.

A trip to remember…
Every year staff at Kings arrange a three-day outward bound excursion for GCSE students.
The trip provides a great opportunity for younger students across all three of our colleges to build long-lasting bonds with their new classmates. It also gives them the opportunity to learn new skills, challenge themselves outside the classroom, and become more confident.
Fun activities include archery, climbing, orienteering and sand sledging.

Other events
Beach sports and activities Bournemouth’s beach is one of the best in the UK, and provides the perfect environment for a host of year-round activities.
Helio Filho, who took part in a recent football tournament, said “Bournemouth is such a good place to make friends and play football on the beach. This day was amazing and I hope to play even more with my friends from Kings”.
Students at Kings come from all over the world, and part of their experience involves learning about cultural celebrations and events in the UK.
One such celebration is Halloween. Kings Bournemouth students had first-hand experience of this last October with an all-day fancy dress fiesta followed by an evening party.
A Kings Extravaganza
Every year, teachers, students, and host families get together for a Christmas ‘Extravaganza’ at Kings Bournemouth.
The evening’s festivities include the Christmas play, which, most recently, was a production of 'Much Ado About Nothing'. The play was prepared by students taking part in the Trinity Arts Award, and the evening's catering and hospitality was managed by students on the Tourism and Hospitality programmes.

Welcome from the Principal
Kings London is a warm, welcoming community in which we strive, with first-rate teaching, for the highest standards of learning while ensuring that our students are safe, happy and fulfilled. Our small classes and supportive welfare system give students the best possible opportunities for success and university progression.
Our location in leafy Beckenham is perfect as there are excellent facilities close to the College, but the cultural benefits of London — the galleries, museums, the law courts, and the financial centres — are just a short train ride away.
The staff and I are here to help you achieve academic success, to explore British and world culture, and ultimately to achieve your university dream.

Choosing a club at Kings LondonDuring induction week, students at Kings London visit the Clubs and Societies Fair to find out about extracurricular activities available at the College.
They can sign up for a whole range of clubs including Photography Club, World Affairs Society, Debating Society, Textiles Society, and Drama Club.
Director of Studies, Mark Poolton said “Extra-curricular activities are a great way to make your university application really stand out to admissions tutors. They help you to relax outside your studies and make new friends".
As an international college, we like to embrace the cultural celebrations of all our students. In 2014 we helped our Chinese students mark the Lunar New Year by decorating the canteen and reception area with red and gold lanterns, and serving traditional Chinese food.
Foundation student Lester Hu (pictured) was managing the calligraphy table and said: “It’s great to be able to show my non-Chinese friends how to do Chinese calligraphy. As an artist, it’s an aspect of my culture that is visual so I think it is very interesting”.From cafeteria
to catwalkAt Kings we have some extremely talented students who are encouraged to showcase their skills at special events. Recently, the Kings London fashion show saw the cafeteria transformed into a catwalk for the night. Everyone was involved, with students taking on the roles of designer, model, photographer, make up artist, and DJ.

Staff vs. Students!
We raise money for charitable causes through events and activities across all Kings locations. In 2014 a charity football match was organised to raise money for the people affected by floods in Serbia, with staff and students both taking part.
Several times each year Kings Oxford holds a photography competition.
It’s a great way to encourage students to explore the wonderful city they live in, and to show off their creative skills. One of the highlights of 2014 was the ‘Oxford Doors and Archways’ competition, which drew in a huge range of entries.
A touch of ShakespeareArts and drama is popular at all three colleges, and for three nights in March 2014 Kings Oxford students from both St. Josephs and St. Michaels put on a fantastic production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

Extended A-levelThe Extended A-level is designed for
students with lower language levels who
intend to follow a main A-level course. It
develops language proficiency to the level
required for the demands of A-level, while
also developing academic study skills and
providing academic subject enrichment in
preparation for the main A-level syllabus.
Advanced Level FoundationThis intensive one-year foundation course is
for students who are seeking places at
leading UK universities. It is based on the
A-level syllabus and recognised by a wide
variety of UK Higher Education institutions.
Extended FoundationThe Extended Foundation includes an
academic year which introduces academic
subjects and language development prior to
studying the Advanced Level Foundation
syllabus. It offers an alternative to a two-year
A-level for students with a lower language
entry point who require a more incremental
approach to learning.
GCSEThis course is for students aged 14 or 15 who

have not yet finished High School education
in their home country. We will determine the
right path for every student — from a
three-term accelerated course to a two-year
programme.

a British curriculum within a small class
environment, and have the opportunity to
