UHCW NHS Trust AGM

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust is inviting patients andmembers of the public to find out more about their local hospitals at its Annual General Meeting(AGM) next month.

This year's AGM is due to take place in the Clinical Sciences Building at University Hospital inCoventry from 5.30pm - 7pm on Thursday, 30 July 2015.

The hospital Trust, which runs University Hospital in Coventry and the Hospital of St Cross inRugby, will be celebrating its achievements, and outlining the challenges it has faced over the lastyear. The UHCW annual report will also be presented at the meeting.

As always, following the review of the year there will be an open question and answer session and achance to speak with senior staff on an individual basis.

The AGM will hear that in 2014/15:

o A new look Children's Emergency Department was opened, which was designed with children of allages in mind and provides a friendly environment.

o Our Diamond Jubilee Rehabilitation Centre was officially opened on our St Cross site by HRHPrincess Alexandra.

o We were awarded International Centre of Excellence status award for the treatment ofneuroendocrine tumours.

o The introduction of robotic surgery. The Da Vinci Robot is able to perform prostate, kidney, bowel,throat and heart operations with minimal intrusion for patients.

Andy Hardy, Chief Executive Officer, said:

"It has been a challenging year, but some of the achievements of our staff at University Hospital andthe Hospital of St Cross have been exceptional.

"I look forward to meeting with patients, carers and members of the public and sharing oursuccesses."
