For a complete listing visit our website at: www.spiritofthenorth.net/rulesandprotocol This is a good will tournament. Discourteous or unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated. Each competitor may enter one kata, one kobudo, and one kumite division. Traditional white gi/ uniform is required with sleeves and pant legs not rolled up but hemmed. Black gi top may be worn for kobudo competition. Groin and hand protectors are mandatory for all competitors, as well as chest protectors for female competitors. Helmets and body protection are optional but highly recommended for all competitors. If you chose not to wear a helmet, a mouthguard is mandatory. All traditional Okinawan weapons will be allowed for kobudo competition. ATHLETES WITH A DISABILITY All athletes competing in this division must fill out the applicable registration form so that you can be assessed with a disability score. This form must be submitted no later than three days prior to the event and can be found on the Spirit of the North website. 4:30-5:15 Photo op with Shinjo Sensei - All welcome 5:15 Jr. Black Belt check in 5:30 Demonstrations 6:00 Officials Meeting Black Belts be checked in by this time 6:30 Competition begins 8:30 (approx) Sayonara Party at Skybox Grill Demonstrations - Jr. Black Belts/Black Belts Kata and Kumite All ages Brown belt and below kata and kumite - Kobudo all ranks and ages FRIDAY, May 10 SATURDAY, May 11 9:15 am 9:30 am 10:00 am 10:45 am 11:30 am Noon Concession will be available both Friday & Saturday with hot food, beverages & snacks.
