Synchronization with Active Directory domains Three major issues: Password service needs to be installed on the Active Directory server Two domains (UCS domain, Active Directory domain) No kerberos single sign-onRoadmap 2014 7. Possible solutions Join of Samba 4 in the Active Directory domain Currently not supported by the Samba Team Sysvol synchronization not yet implemented New DC increases the complexity Samba 4 trusts Not yet fully implemented and supported by the Samba Team Simple LDAP bind will not work Both are useful, but for other scenariosRoadmap 2014 8. Interaction with Active Directory domains Synchronization or replication of users, groups and computers with the UCS Active Directory Connector No password synchronization Kerberos Join into the Active Directory domain LDAP bind uses kerberos against Active Directory for the password verification Easy setup through UMC installation wizardRoadmap 2014 9. Management system Reduce complexity: IT as easy as it should be! Feedback loop with customers, partners and tester More usability tests New UMC modules Active Directory Take Over Server HealthRoadmap 2014 10. Management system New setup wizard Domain wide update module Cloning of users and groups Support for higher screen resolutions Roadmap 2014 11. App Center Make different integration levels visible Buy apps via App Center Stable interfaces Smooth update from UCS 3.2 to UCS 4 Reduce app integration complexity Central app administrationRoadmap 2014 12. Virtualization Xen vs. KVM Supported both for a long time Features are identical Not yet decided which one will be supported with UCS 4 Send us feedback: [email protected] Amazon EC2 + OpenStack backend support for UCS Virtual Machine Manager New UCS instance with one clickRoadmap 2014 13.
