First, who are you talking to and why do I care?

As a television and media executive. I was ten years into my career and realized that while I’d had great opportunities in the world of work, I’d missed some important steps along the way. I was good at what I did, but limited when it came to areas like negotiation, finance, business planning, and strategy. So, I returned to study at UCLA Anderson in the Executive MBA program and graduated in 2012. It changed my life.

I am passionate about bringing business literacy to aspiring business executives and as an instructor taught Management Communications last summer to second year MBA students. I couldn’t stay away.

The skills I learned ten years into my career, are things you should know now. I can’t help but wonder if I had this knowledge then, where might I be today.

WHY NOW?

The world of work is changing and the workforce of the future is radically different. You are graduating with a lifetime of self expression, the ability to have an unfiltered voice, and the ability to innovate using technology while sitting in a coffee shop.

Here’s the thing, while a lot of you know how to come up with outstanding ideas, you don’t yet know how to make them into opportunities, businesses or jobs.

That’s why you deserve the UCLA Anderson EDGE

YOUR T IME AT EDGE

EDGE is a four week, full time summer program. Classes will begin at 8:00 AM and go through the early evening. You will have study sessions with your teams.

Instead of just another unpaid internship, you will learn from UCLA Anderson’s premiere faculty, alumni and industry leaders on what you need to know to join the workforce.

It is rigorous. It is intense.

It is extraordinary.

LEARNING & LEADING

I found that the EDGE Program offered a rare opportunity to make meaningful connections, as well as to learn critical skills that are not often taught in the typical classroom. After all, it's not every quarter that you get to learn from the most esteemed professors that Anderson has to offer. Highly Recommended for any student, graduated or otherwise.
