The town of Bulan is composed of 63 barangays. One of it is Brgy. Magsaysay that is also known as “Bungog”. According to the Gurangan’s, it was known as Bungog because long time ago, there is a couple resident that are both deaf. They wave mats as source of income, one day as they are waving outside there nipa hut, a stranger approach them and ask what is the name of the place. But since the couple are both deaf, they couldn’t understand what the stranger is trying to say. And one of the neighbors of the deaf that is watching the scenario shouted “bungog”. The stranger thougt that it was the name of the place, so from then, the barangay is called “bungog”.

After how many years it was renamed as Brgy. Magsaysay, in honor to the late President Ramon Magsaysay.

Barangay Magsaysay is a beatiful place, the people are very warm just like the other people of Bulan. One of their assets is the Ubo falls. It is bounded by Brgy. Magsaysay and Brgy. San Ramon. It is approximately 3 kilometers away from the barangay proper of Magsaysay. It takes one hour and a half walk. And it needs to cross the river twelve times to reach the ubo.

But if you are there, the tiredness well vanished because of its beauty. You can jump safely from the top of the falls but you need first to climb at the side of the falls in order to be on its top, and it is a great surprise because when you climb you will see another small falls. This place is great for those adventurous people.
