Denotation: the dictionary meaning

Connotation: the feeling that people associate with the word Positive Negative

In the fourth chapter of Dragonwings Moon Shadow’s father saves Black Dog. Black Dog was about to be killed in an alley way. Then Moon Shadow’s father makes a very loud high pitch sound. The men that are about to kill Black Dog were so excited that they mistook it for a siren. They scrambled away thinking the police were on to them and Moon Shadow and his father got the chance to take Black Dog home. 5
