What is Typography

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make language visible, for example the font size, design of the font and the display of the font. The arrangement of type involves the selection of typefaces, point size, line length, leading, adjusting the spaces between groups of letters and adjusting the space between pairs of letters.

How is Typography effective?

Typography is effective as the text would be more appealing to the audience rather than having the text to appear dull and boring. Another reason would be to emphasis the atmosphere that may be projected. Color is used for its emotional effect in conveying the tone and nature of subject matter.

Why use typography?

We use typography to express the creativity in the types. An example of typography could be the lettering in the movie poster ‘se7en’, where the text looks like scratches and all the words do not make sense and that we watch the movie to find out and also gain the understanding of why this typography was used.
