General Overview
Accidents are almost occuring uniformly during days as well as night hours
But severiety index is high during night hours due to absence of retro-reflective materials.
Two wheelers and truck contribute to majority of accidents due to discontinious service roads leading to wrong side movement of traffic to avoid a long detour.

Most common types of urban accidents
United States is a highly urbanized society A 1995 Institute study of more than 4,500 crashes in
four urban areas found that: 22 percent involved drivers who ran red lights or
other traffic controls such as stop or yield signs. 18 percent occurred when a vehicle that was stopped
or in the process of stopping was struck from the rear.
The three other leading types of urban crashes include running off the road and striking an object (14 percent)

Common Factors that Contribute to Car Accidents in urban areas
Large volumes of traffic on multi-lane highways lead to: tailgating, reckless driving (including speeding and improper lane changes), and road rage. Drivers often become impatient in traffic jams, road construction, and detours.
One-way streets, limited u-turns, and bus or bike lanes :can be confusing for motorists who are unfamiliar with local street directions.
Potholes can cause drivers to lose control of their vehicles or can damage car tires.
Running red lights can be extremely dangerous to drivers and other, unsuspecting motorists.
