Carefully read and respond to the background questions by clicking Yes or No – click

Click on the circle to the left of the first choice, i.e. the 9 semester hour option. Click .

Click on the circle to the left of the appropriate choice and click . NOTE: Universities/colleges only send transcripts to ISBE at the educator’s request. To expedite the

evaluation, educators are not sure if their transcripts are on file at ISBE should mark the second option and submit official transcripts to ISBE Educator Licensure, 100 N 1st St, Springfield, IL 62777-0001.

If you are submitting transcripts continue to the next page. If your transcripts are already on file at ISBE skip to page ten (10) below.

If you are submitting transcripts fill in the information below by clicking on the down arrows (screen 1) and selecting an option from the lists that pop up

(screen 2).

Each time an institution is entered ELIS provides the option to enter another. When all the information has been filled in for all institutions, click .

ELIS displays the information below. Click .

ELIS displays the message below. Click .

ELIS displays the Credentials screen. The license status is L9 – Lapsed 9 Hours indicating that you applied for reinstatement based on a review of your transcripts. To return to the dashboard (home

page) click near the upper left of the screen.

The dashboard also reflects the Lapsed 9 Hours status. Allow 7-10 working days for processing. ELIS generates an email when the evaluation is complete (see next page.)

When the evaluation is complete ELIS sends an email advising the educator that his/her account was updated. Login to ELIS when you receive the email.

If the Deficiencies link in the Action Center is blue the license was not reinstated. Click on the deficiencies link for an explanation and further instructions.

If the Registrations link in the Action Center is blue the license was reinstated. Click on the registration link to pay the registration fees. NOTE: Reinstated licenses are not valid until the registration fees have

been paid. If registration fees are not paid the license will lapse again in six months.
