    Warranty!

    As of the 31st of May 2015 all Sema Product is

    covered by a…..

    We don’t believe in small print so here are the terms:-

    If you’ve already purchased a Sema product with a standard 12 month warranty this is now

    automatically extended to 3 years from the original purchase date.

    The only hardware not covered by the warranty are Sema type 1 Pressure and Vacuum

    transducers. This is because these are an open transducer and can be damaged by objects

    entering their orifice. For this reason they are restricted to a 12 month warranty.

    Sema Type 2 Flush Diaphragm transducers are covered by the 3 year warranty .

    You are still covered even if you leave the power on 24/7.

    The only failures that aren’t covered by the warranty are those caused by severe power

    surges, fire, physical damage or faulty wiring.

    Our liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective hardware.

    This is a genuine warranty and we will not be going out of our way to find reasons to reject

    a claim but we do recognise that this warranty is open to abuse and so the acceptance of a

    claim must be at our discretion.

    The Wireless remote control module for the MPC comes complete with two remotes. The module simply plugs into the expan-

    sion port inside the terminal cover of the MPC. Button ‘A’ can be programmed to either start and stop the MPC or to switch it

    between Milk and Wash modes. Button ‘B’ is a remote Pump Out button.

    The WBX or Washbox has the same functionality as the Waikato wash system and is designed to enable Waikato Milk Pump

    Float Level probe extension cables: The standard length for a float probe cable is around 3 meters. If you would like one

    longer than that we will make a high quality and waterproof soldered and heat-shrunk spliced joint in the cable and extend it

    to any length that you like up to 100 meters. The spliced joint is free all that you pay for is the cable.

    Slave Drives: Any Sema Water Pump Controller may run any number of slave drives. Any of the VSD’s listed in the VSD section can be configured, free of charge, to be a slave drive to a Sema WPC. These slave drives can either run at the same

    speed as the Master or at a ratio which may be freely adjusted. The setup and configuration of the Slave VSD is a completely

    free service, the interconnecting cables are also supplied free of charge, you pay only the price of a slave VSD.

    Sometimes simple is good. These switches have a waterproof rubber boot and come mounted in a fully waterproof, high

    impact plastic enclosure. They allow you to switch between the two pre-programmed pressure set-points in the WPC.

    Flow Controllers

    With the addition of a flow sensor and a change in the software any Sema WPC can become a Sema Flow Pump Controller

    (FPC)

    Just as the Sema WPC controls pressure the Sema FPC allows you to enter a desired flow rate (in Litres per Minute) and the

    FPC will alter the speed of the pump to keep that flow rate constant.

    The price will be the cost of a WPC less the transducer plus the cost of a flow sensor. Typically Flow Sensors range from

    around $800.00 up to around $2,500.00 depending on the size. We don’t expect these to be a high volume seller so only plan

    to manufacture them on demand. Lead time will usually be around one week and we can usually get you the price of the flow

    sensor overnight.

    Slave Drives: The VPS’s, which are highlighted in yellow in the table above, are Slave drives and are designed to be con-nected to a VPC which acts as a Master. A single VPC can control any number of slave drives of any size. This is a very techni-

    cally good and cost effective way of controlling multiple vacuum pump installations. Every VPS is pre-programmed and comes

    with the necessary connecting cables making this a truly plug and play solution.

    Effluent Pump Controllers

    EPC

    This is our most basic model and our most popular. This is really just a pre-configured VSD that’s set up to run in speed control

    mode. Depending on what you want the speed can either be adjusted via the up and down arrows on the VSD (which is how

    we will set it up if you don’t ask for anything different) or it can be configured to have a selection of pre-set speeds which are

    selectable by an external switch.

    With the Milk, Water and Vacuum Pump controllers it’s been possible for us to design one unit that can adapt itself to any type

    of installation. Because the types and configurations of effluent systems vary so widely we haven’t been able to use the one

    size fits all approach. Instead we have had to come up with 4 distinctly different controller models. Please read the descriptions

    below to determine which one best suits your needs. We only list and stock units up to 22kw but, as with the WPC’s, all mod-

    els are readily available in sizes up to and including 250kw.

    Effluent Pump Controllers EPCF

    The ‘F’ stands for flow control. This is our second most popular model, it allows the user to enter a flow rate (in Mega Cubes

    per Hour or MCH) which the EPCF will deliver whether the spreader is at the top of a hill in the farthest paddock or sitting in

    the paddock next to the effluent pit.

    The big advantage of this model are the power savings that are achieved by the pump only having to work as hard as it needs

    to deliver the optimum flow rate to the spreader.

    This unit also comes with these protections built in:

    Run Dry Protection

    Burst Pipe Protection

    Maximum Run Time Protection

    Blocked Pipe Protection

    The disadvantage of this system is the cost. Unfortunately, because of the nature of effluent, the flow sensor is very specialised

    and relatively expensive. The flow sensor is of a type called an ‘electromagnetic flow sensor’ and has a perfectly smooth bore

    with nothing projecting into the effluent stream. Our flow sensors are available in either 230Vac or 24Vdc. They measure be-

    tween 4 and 60 MCH (Mega Cubes per Hour)

    The ‘FP’ stands for flow and pressure control . This is our premium system designed to provide the ultimate in control and pow-

    er saving when using a constant displacement pump. It has these protections built in:

    The EPCFP controls the flow rate unless the pressure nears the pipes maximum allowable pressure in which case it will revert

    Designed to be permanently mounted in a Cow Shed the SVG requires a 24VDC supply (ask us if you would like us to supply

    one) It has a 6mm hose fitting for the Vacuum pickup and is supplied in a waterproof enclosure. If you’ve had a bad experience

    with other Digital Vacuum Gauges don’t worry, this one is different, it’s built to last and is covered by our 3 year extended war-

    ranty.

    The Brick

    Not your conventional shape for a hand-held vacuum tester The Brick is surprisingly comfortable to hold and use. No frills, no

    bells and whistles just good honest ruggedness and usability. There is a waterproof toggle switch on the side to turn the unit on

    and off and a 6mm hose fitting to connect to whatever you like. Uses 8 x AA batteries which should give around 24 hours of

    continuous operation.

    The PPC (Peristaltic Pump Controller)

    I tried but I just couldn’t quite get this ready in time for this catalogue. The unit is fully developed and is currently being field

    tested. I haven’t finalised the pricing yet but it should be good value and will probably come in a dual pump model as well. It

    will probably also have a remote power supply which can be placed by a convenient power point while the unit itself can be

    put where it’s most convenient to use.

    Based on the SVG on the previous page the STG will display temperature. Haven’t quite finalised pricing yet but it should be

    similar to the SVG.
