Make Plans But AllowFor God
The Bible teaches that planning is
advantageous, and not planning is
disadvantageous. As the old saying
goes, Failing to plan is the same asplanning to fail.
The business world knows this. Two
of our members, Garry and Kate
Wolford, work at The World Trade
Center in Dallas. They tell me that their
Christmas Market happens in June. If
you visit the World Trade Center in
June, you will experience the colors,
sounds and smells of Christmas. Buyersplan early for the Christmas season.
I was caught off guard the other day
in Wal-Mart. It is the heat of the
summer and I found myself standing at a
Back-to-School aisle. How strange!
Some were buying swim suits while
others were buying backpacks.
Churches also plan. It is important
for us to plan our ministries so that wewill be fruitful in making disciples of
Jesus Christ. Planning helps put
together ministries of excellence.
Proverbs 21:5 says it well, Careful
planning puts you ahead in the long run;
hurry and scurry puts you further
behind. Planning also helps others see
what God is doing in our Church. Plans
for the remainder of summer and fall are
quickly becoming realities. Here are a
few of the things on the calendar:
The Connection. July 31-August 21
at 7 pm in Anderson Hall
Youth Week. August 7 - 13.
Promotion Sunday for childrens
Sunday School. August 21 TSCA Faculty Sunday and Blessing
of the Backpacks. At the 10:50 am
service, kids bring your back packs or
whatever you carry your school things in
to be blessed for school. August 21
Confirmation Kick-off. August 21
at 12:30 in Yeats Hall
TSCA students return. August 22
Back-to-School supplies given out.August 27 from 10 am - noon at CSO
Oak Cliff Community Service
Project. September 10 (More info later)
Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run;
hurry and scurry puts you further behind.(Proverbs 21:5 The Message)
Mortals make elaborate plans, but GOD has the last
word. -- Proverbs 16:1

Our youth mission trip to Saint Louis was a great success. We loaded up two van
fulls of students and headed north. Our students had an incredible time serving the
community. We worked in a food bank where we helped several thousand people.
We also served a church in Ferguson, MO where we helped paint, scrub floors
(some more than once) and set up for a sports banquet. We helped maintain three
baseball fields including the dugouts and everything else that goes along with
baseball. In the evenings, we spent time with other students from across the
country. Group Work Camps program staff did a great job of getting everyone
where they needed to go. They also delivered the message in our evening programs.
All in all it was a great trip and great time had by all.
Blessings,
Kyle Welsh, Youth Director
