What you will need:
• 100% (Percent) Cotton T-shirt
• Rubber Bands• Buckets (4Minium)• 2 or more colours of
fabric dye• Latex Gloves• Setting Agent
• Fill 1 bucket half way with hot water, then add 2 table spoons of setting agent to the bucket of hot water and stir until setting agent has dissolved.
• Use 2 more buckets and fill them with normal cold water. Add 1 table of one colour dye to each bucket of cold water and stir. (Try to use colours that will go together to avoid the colours turning brown)
• Lay shirt on a flat surface and decide where you want your design centre to be.
• Grab the part that you want the design to be, and tie a rubber band around the piece of fabric. (Make sure the rubber band is really tight to avoid the dye running.
• Continue step 5 to make your chosen design.
• Once finished with the rubber bands start dyeing. Place your T-shirt in one of the dye baths and let it soak for 20 minutes.
• Once the 20 minutes is up, add 2 cups of the setting agent to the dye bath with your t-shirt in it. And then let it soak for another 10 minutes. (The longer you let it soak, the more vibrant the colours will be)
• After 10 minutes is up, place the parts of the t-shirt that hasn’t been dyed into a different coloured dye bath, and let it soak for 20 minutes, before adding 2 cups of setting agent and stir, then let the shirt soak for 10 minutes.
• When you have finished dying your T-shirt, rinse the T-shirt until the water runs clear.
• Lay your T-Shirt on a flat surface and remove the rubber bands. After removing the rubber bands rinse the T-shirt again, to get any remaining dye out.
• Use a coat hanger, and hang your shirt up to let it dry. (Be careful some dye can still be in the shirt. So try to hang it outside or on concrete)
• Wallah! You have yourself a homemade Tie dyed T-shirt that looks amazballs.
