Keynote Speaker:ANGELA ROCKWOODAngela Rockwood was a successful model and blossoming actress when she was paralyzed in a 2001 car crash on her way home from a shopping trip in San Francisco. Angela’s road to recovery would include creating, producing and starring in the Sundance Channel’s, ‘’Critic’s Choice Awards’’ reality series Push Girls, an unfettered, uncensored glimpse into the lives of four beautiful fearless women, paraplegic or quadriplegic, as they pursue their own claims to happiness, even when their lives threaten to spin out of control. The series is a positive reflection of people with disabilities living independent lives.

Push Girls led to a number of magazine articles, television appearances, speaking opportunities and national commercials with AARP, Maybelline and Sony. Angela is a spokesperson for Ti-Lite Wheelchairs, ABL Jeans and has modeled for Target and Nordstrom. In 2014 she appeared in the documentary “CinemaAbility” a dynamic piece about the evolution of disability in entertainment, focusing attention on the powerful impact that entertainment and the media can have on society.

An Ambassador for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, Angela has worked closely on the organization’s minority outreach campaigns in Asian-American communities. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California and is co-producing and filming the documentary “My Next Breath” which will be released in 2015.
